Dave Quinn is a Sydney-based film editor with over 15 years of experience across feature films, television, music videos, advertising, and short films. His work spans both studio and independent productions, from large-scale VFX-driven features to smaller, performance-led films.

Dave wanted to make films since watching Dick Tracy as a kid. It sparked a love of strong genre filmmaking that's never really left him. He came to editing sideways; through acting (badly), then directing, and it was only when he started cutting his own short films that he realised editing was the thing he actually wanted to do. The puzzle of it suited him; bringing all the pieces together to find the whole picture.

He started out as a first assistant and assembly editor on large studio productions, working alongside editors on projects with Ron Howard, Baz Luhrmann, David Michôd and Wes Anderson. These collaborations shaped how he approaches the edit. He's deliberate about rhythm, interested in genre and what it lets you do with an audience, and tends toward a more considered approach to cutting, giving performances and atmosphere room rather than papering over them.
